  • 1929 was born in New Zealand.
  • 1960 got a job in Australia.
  • 1965  was head of the Eye Department at a Sydney hospital
  • 1970 helped launch a national program to attack eye disease in Aboriginal Australians.
  • 1980 was travelling all over the world to help set up eye health programs in developing countries.
  • 1993 died at home

Nelson Mandela

Turning point

  •  1952 he and Tambo opened the first Black Law firm in South Africa.
  • 1944 Mandela helped found the ANC Youth League.
  • By the late 50s  Mandela had to resign from the ANC and work underground. 
  • 1960 the Sharpeville massacre of 63 black South African’s changed the whole political climate. 
  • 1962  Mandela had been arrested.
  • Towards the end of his prison spell his treatment improved as the South African establishment increasingly looked to negotiation, in the face of international isolation., they eventually led to Mandela’s release in 1990.



Achievement:
  •  on 10 May 1994 Nelson Mandela was inaugurated as the first democratically elected State President of South Africa on and was President until June 1999.
  • As president, Mandela presided over the transition from minority rule and apartheid. His advocacy of reconciliation led to international acclaim and importantly the trust of the White African population.
  •  he is widely admired and has received many prestigious awards. Nelson Mandela is also associated with many educational programmers and initiatives such as Make Poverty History Campaign.
  • In 1993 Nelson Mandela was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

1937-born in Australia.
Before 1951-been part of many pioneering events.
1956-cut first on a '78 inch' for Regal Zonophone.
1964-was Pop Star 
1963-quoted in response about the political temperature between cultures in USA.
1973- became chairman of the Foundation for Aboriginal Affairs.        

1975- was hitting it home with the country crowds at Mooroopna.
1978- 21st album signed under Festival.
1983-retired from the studio.
1989-won the Aboriginal of the Year Award.
1994-went into the Australasian Country Music Roll of Renown
1999-2000-followed Brendan Gallagher as winners of the ARIA Award.
1999-hitting a new peak and inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame alongside Richard Clapton.
2000-joined with the voices of Australia in Olympic song.
2000- played to international audiences in Hanover, Singapore ,UK and the USA touring on the WOMAD circuit.
2002-released three albums after Messenger...... Resonate.
2004-released Down the Road.
2005-established The Jimmy Little Foundation .
2006-works Warner Music.
2012-passed away.

SUMMARY:

The number of seahorses fallen down for the past 16 years in Sydney Harbour and it is because of poaching and sending them illegally to Asia for using as food, pets, and in alternative medicines, in large black market. A volunteers try to monitor the Parsley Bay population and you can help them as much as you can to report illegal activity by the hotline(1800 043 536)


REFLECTION;

In my opinion all creature have the right to live freely in their natural environment, specially those that are endangered like seahorses. We must protect our natural environment even individually.
